My usual tools:
- Faststone image viewer (has a portable version)
- Notepad++
- MediaPlayer Classic HC (for 99% of video watching)
- VLC (for watching the network stream from my ip security cameras)
- Inkscape
- Blender
- Sketchup
- Google Earth
- Paint.Net
- Source Tree
- Firefox
(There's a bunch of bigger things I always have on hand that aren't really "utility apps", such as Visual Studio, Mathematica, Photoshop, etc)
