8th Controller in 18 Months

Hello, I use the Quest 3 for games such as Gym Class VR and Win Reality and for the 2nd time in 2 months, my right controller has seemingly combusted itself a broken B button. Furthermore, my left controller has finally ended its' life cycle since the release of the Quest 3. The left controller's metal piece that keeps the battery touching the + and - is now jammed, which I will give credit, has not happened to any other controller. I use the left controller as much as the right controller, what in the world!? I can definitely get warranty on my right controller as, seriously, just over 7 weeks ago my last right controller was broken. Why is the quality of your controllers to the absolute lowest that people have to spend 100 dollars every other month to get a new one!? Do you realize that controllers should last an average of 6 or more months!? I try my absolute best to avoid hitting anything. This controller I haven't even brazed the wall with!! This is frankly ridiculous and I hope that y'all give me a replacement right controller and I am contemplating whether to purchase or wait to get a new left one. I will be in contact with support promptly. I expect a warranty replacement for my right controller as soon as possible, and I’d like advice on whether my left controller can be repaired or replaced affordably. Speaking out for everyone else, this is getting ridiculous and I hope this is the last time I have to replace this controller for AT LEAST 6 months.

  • That's not so good. But why would you expect a controller to last only 6 months? It should last as long as the headset !  I do hope you get your controller problem sorted out !

I must admit, even though some people have problems that Meta need to sort out in a more timely manner than they do, I'm having a very positive experience with my Meta Quest headset. Apart from a software bug that didn't affect the use of the headset, it's been a very satisfying and entertaining experience. If anyone asked me if they should get a Quest 3 or 3s, I'd say go for it. We should remember that millions of people have a trouble free experience with their headsets and the relatively small percentage with issues come here to seek help. So, there's a situation where, naturally you're going to see a lot of complaints because they're all concentrated on this community giving the impression problems are widespread. They're not. I know quite a large group of users based in my own country...which isn't even officially supported as of yet, but we all have a very positive experience. We don't have warranty but the community and online support has been pretty good.  I notice that few people are defending Meta, but for the vast majority of users the experience is a good one. I do understand your frustration though and Meta is not perfect when it comes to things like software updates and support, but the company doesn't suck for the vast amount of people with no problems !

I love the Quest 3. Absolutely the best purchase. The games are not only a step forward for gaming, but absolutely great tools for working out. This just makes me quite upset that they charge such ridiculous prices for something that should absolutely be cheaper. At least charge free shipping at this price. And I have never had a problem with Meta Support, so It is not them at all. I applaud support for always being there on time and promptly.

Yeah, I've had that left controller (with the jammed metal) since release of the console so I no longer have warranty on it. Thank you for your tip, however. I'm sure this will come in helpful when it breaks in the near future.
