After v78, Quest Pro's slow charging speed

I'm not sure if this is a charging speed issue or if battery consumption has increased, but there is a problem.

After the v78 update, the battery level of my Quest Pro decreases even when I play with a power bank connected.

Before the update, connecting a power bank and playing actually increased the battery level of the Quest Pro.

I used the same power bank as before, and the same problem occurred with all three of my power banks. Therefore, this is not a malfunction of the power bank.

Is anyone else experiencing the same problem? If you know of a solution, please let me know. Thank you.

Okay. Compared with photos I took before, I can see that it's true. The charging speed has slowed down.

Both photos were taken using a genuine charger (45W) when the battery was at 0% and the Quest Pro was turned off.

Before the update, it charged at a speed of 22.8W, but now it charges at a speed of 13.7W. This seems to be the cause of the problem.

  • Same here with Quest 3. I used to connect with my 65W charger and play with it connected and the battery would stay at the same level. Now it discharges at about the same as it does without a charger connected. Also, when powering the unit off after use, I have to wait 20 minutes or so before reconnecting the charger in order for it to charge back up. If I don't it basically maintains whatever battery level it had when I turned it off.
My battery is not discharging when not connected to the charger. I've changed cables, charger and checked for debris in the port.
This appears to be a firmware level change that affects how much charge the battery can get.

Remember when Apple made their older phones stop charging as well so they could sell the newer phones?
I wonder if Meta is about to drop a new headset with "improved battery life!"?
