this happend to me when i tried verifying my age and i didnt have to even do anything with a code so i can help but you might not get locked out now keep checking for another email and try doing a hard reboot (hold down power and volume down button for 10-12 seconds or longer and use volume buttons to choose an click power button to select) and that may fix it or sideload the update with boot menu which is what i just explained
