Air link not working

I know i use to use air link on my quest 2, however I am trying to use it on my quest 3 that i have had for over a year and it is not connecting. I have it "connected" and it says everything is working correctly, but when i try to link, the headset is permanently stuck in the meta logo loading screen and in the pc app it says "Meta Quest Link isnt working correctly. click here to check our support article" and then "we cant find your headset. please connect your headset."

I am at my wits end. please please help.

FYI I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app on the pc, factory reset my headset, restarted both multiple times, unlinked - relinked, ect. I will redo any of these steps if they will help but i am in shambles.

    Hello Rhino162 !

Thank you for reaching out, and we’re truly sorry to hear about the trouble you’re experiencing with Air Link on your  Quest 3. We understand how frustrating this must be, especially after trying so many steps already. We’re here to help.

To assist you further, please try the following steps:

Repair the Quest Link PC App

    Visit meta.com/quest/setup

Download the setup file and select Repair when prompted

This will reinstall the app without removing your games or settings

    Check for Software Updates

Ensure your Quest 3 and PC app are both updated to the latest versions

Also check for any pending Windows updates and install them

    Update Graphics Drivers

Visit your GPU manufacturer’s website (NVIDIA or AMD) and install the latest drivers manually

    Disable USB Power Saving

Open Device Manager → Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers

Right-click each USB Root Hub → PropertiesPower Management tab

Uncheck “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power”
    Network & USB Optimization

Ensure your PC is connected via Ethernet and your headset is on a 5GHz Wi-Fi network

Use a high-quality USB 3.0 cable and try different USB ports (preferably on the back of your PC)

      For AIRLINK?????? 🙄

  • What do you see in your headset settings under LINK before you click the Launch button? You need 4 green ticks, and the computer must be "connected" (this "connected" is a confusing term and does not mean a PCVR connection is established yet; it just means the headset is detected by the PC app and vice-versa).

Also, in the Meta Quest Link app on PC, what version are you on? The version number can be found under Settings->General, then scroll right down the bottom. The current version should be: Meta Quest Link app version 81.0.0.828.254 (81.0.0.828.254).
