Anti Aliasing

While using oculus quest link my games were running very badly and I noticed quite quickly that anti-aliasing was most likely the problem. So I go to setting and try to turn it off but when I click it the toggle stays the same. I search for hours but still can’t find a fix.

  • That AA setting only effects your meta link home screens and desktop browser, not actually any pcvr games.  So, no real advantage performance wise imho.  It may have had more of an effect with the discontinued Rift Home environment.  After that was discontinued meta probably decided to just leave those AA options enabled.

You can edit the dash.props file in Windows by opening Documents > Dash > Preferences > Right click dash.props > Edit in notepad > Change true to false as follows > graphics.autoGraphicsSettingsEnabled: false
    graphics.msaaEnabled: false > File > Save (Ctrl S)
Go into air link Oculus etc and voila, AA will be off, then just use the slider to turn off layers.

    Any questions, please ask.

This worked for me only when I set the file to read-only otherwise it reverted

Fair enough thanks, only had my Q3(first I've had/used) for about a week now and the more I learn an use it, the more the façade crumbles away to show the amature shallow underbelly of the whole Meta/quest/oculus project. I'd hoped with it being the 3rd iteration it would be more of a refined product, but in many ways I feel like im bug testing a prototype potrayed as this sleak user friendly wonder device. Just needed a little vent lol.
