Any way to keep floor height for Meta Link between headset sleeps?

Just about every time I wake the headset and connect the Meta Link for PCVR, the floor height in the link app jumps up to chest level.

When I quit and go through the convoluted steps to launch the floor height tool, it gets the floor height correct usually in about 1 second. So it's not like it's hard for the headset to do. Then I have to accept and re-launch the Link so it opens with the correct floor height.

  1. Is there any way to get the Link app to pay attention to the current floor height without needing to manually set it?
  2. Is there a way to launch the floor height tool in one step? A shortcut? Currently the fastest way I've found is to launch the Settings app, scroll up to Search, pick the history item where I searched for it before, then when on the screen that has that I can hit the box-arrow icon to actually launch.
  3. Is meta working on a fix for this? It seems like a bug to me.

I don't know why your floor height jumps up... it doesn't happen to me.

You can adjust the floor height/guardian while linked.

Tap the gear icon in your dashboard while linked to pc and then tap "customize/adjust guardian."

Maybe this can solve your issue so that the floor height is correctly detected the next time you link your Quest to your PC.

Choleni  Ya, same here mate.  I normally use stationary boundary and since the latest v78 update I really like that I can chose a large boundary which is about 2x the size of the original one.  As long as I've set this up in the meta quest home it seems to honor this when going to PCVR with Link or Air Link.

The only problem I've had in the past was using a Developer account and disabling all boundaries.  This often resulted in my floor height jumping around a lot.

This appears to have worked, at least for a single room, wired. After I set it to a stationary guardian from within the Link environment, I tried disconnecting and reconnecting and it kept the floor level.

I do wonder though if it will be as successful if I do this in a different room. That was the case when I'd used wireless Link and the system had a terrible time identifying rooms. A couple times I tried setting up the whole house in Guardian and that turned out to be a bit pointless, as it would frequently lose track of where it would wake up in—shifting every room either laterally or by an entire floor.

I've a dedicated room to play in...... so normally I don't change the rooms and don't have experience with that.

But I've just tried it from another room with air link for testing.

My floor in the desktop app stays at the correct height.

  • Huh I thought this was just happening to me. Even between workouts, despite staying in the same game,  I seem to drop through the floor

Killer.Gma  I don't think this is the same problem as with hobyvh

What you describe happened to me with the Rift S when the cable stopped working so well..... especially when playing Beat Saber, where the cable moved a lot.

Do you play wired? If so, Is your cable still good?

Have you tried it with another one?

Does ii also happens when you use air link?
