Battery problems on Meta Quest 3

I didn't think this would become this big of an issue until now. Recently. on my Quest 3 headset, I've noticed some weird problems, one of the most common issues being the battery's depletion rate. It is going down very quickly, as if it's in a rush, which is something I've never seen before.

For example, I'm about to play with my friends on a game. My battery is only at 17%, which shouldn't be that big of a deal. I've just loaded into the Loft area and my screen says "Power Off" without me turning off my headset. I thought I would have more time to play, not just around a countable 30 seconds. Something else I notice changing is the speed of charging. It has slowed down significantly along with the battery going down fast.

This problem is only happening more recently, and I know that it could be because of how I'm charging it, but that itself shouldn't be the problem. Another thing that could add into it is how I am a secondary account on my Quest headset, as they tend to have more bugs than regular.

The pattern in this post is a classic mix of accurate self‑diagnosis followed by immediate dismissal, then a pivot to an explanation that doesn't actually map to how the Quest 3 works.

You've basically answered why you are having battery problems, then subsequently tried to deny that it is the cause of problem.

These are textbook signs of battery wear or charging hardware issues:

    • Rapid drain
    • Sudden shutdown at ~17%
    • Slower charging
    • Issue worsening over time

That's simply nonsense. Secondary accounts do not affect battery chemistry, charging speed, or power‑off thresholds. There's no mechanism for a secondary account to cause the headset to drain faster or shut down early.

    A couple things to consider:
    * Depending on how long you've had your quest, the battery "could" gradually degrade over time, leaving less charge capacity. Highly unlikely, considering quest lifetime vs battery lifetime.
    * Starting an app at 17% charge? really? That's just asking for trouble. If my phone is under 20% charge, I start charging it asap.
    * The battery depletion rate changes a lot depending on the games you're running. Running CPU + GPU processing on the qualcom spark processor consumes much more juice than letting the headset idle.

    Just charge your headset, man.
