Hello, I’m getting a blackout screen after I washed my eye accessory because it had an odor but I kept it off until it dried all the way but now it’s not working. It’s saying that it’s finding a position and do I want to go in travel mode. I’ve factory reset and rebooted it plenty of times and I’m still getting a blackout screen. I need to speak to someone about this. Because it was working fine last night and now since I washed the eye piece. It’s not working anymore.
What do you mean by eye accessory ? Are you talking about the actual lenses,? If so, and you used water on your headset you probably killed it. If you look closely at your lenses there is a very small gap around the frame. Water can get in there easily. Water finds a way. If that happened, you'll have to send it for repair or buy a new one. Water and electronics do not make for good buddies. You should be prepared to pay as washing your headset will probably void the warranty. At least you didn't put it in the washing machine as someone else did recently.😂 For future reference you can buy cleaning products that are safe to use on electrical and electronic devices.
I think they mean the faceplate, which is hand-washable. Personally, I use the alternative silicone faceplate which you can buy separately.
To clean a Meta Quest 3 facial interface, gently remove it, wipe it with a dry microfiber cloth after each use, and for a deeper clean, hand wash it with cool water and a mild liquid detergent, then rinse and allow it to air dry completely before reinstalling. Avoid submerging the interface, using chemical cleaners or alcohol, and do not use heat to dry it.
After each use (quick clean)
Wipe the surface: Use a dry microfiber cloth to wipe away any sweat or debris from the facial interface.
Deeper clean
- Remove the interface: Gently pull the facial interface away from the headset until it snaps off. - Hand wash: Wash the facial interface with cool water and a mild liquid detergent. - Rinse thoroughly: Make sure to rinse out all soap residue. - Air dry: Allow the facial interface to air dry completely before reattaching it to the headset. - Reinstall: Snap the dry facial interface back into place on the headset.
Important Reminders
Do not submerge: Do not fully submerge the facial interface in water. Avoid chemicals: Do not use chemical cleaners or alcohol. - Do not use heat: Allow the interface to air dry; do not use a hair dryer or other heat sources. - Consider alternatives: For more frequent cleaning, you might consider a sweat-resistant cover for your facial interface.

When you get the message about Finding position in room, can you select the option "continue without tracking". If you can then get into the headset settings, try to Clear Boundary History then redraw your boundary using the Adjust Boundary setting. Then turn off your headset fully (not sleep) and wait 2 minutes before restarting it. If that doesn't fix the problem, you will need help from Meta support.
