I think they mean the faceplate, which is hand-washable. Personally, I use the alternative silicone faceplate which you can buy separately.
To clean a Meta Quest 3 facial interface, gently remove it, wipe it with a dry microfiber cloth after each use, and for a deeper clean, hand wash it with cool water and a mild liquid detergent, then rinse and allow it to air dry completely before reinstalling. Avoid submerging the interface, using chemical cleaners or alcohol, and do not use heat to dry it.
After each use (quick clean)
Wipe the surface: Use a dry microfiber cloth to wipe away any sweat or debris from the facial interface.
Deeper clean
- Remove the interface: Gently pull the facial interface away from the headset until it snaps off.
- Hand wash: Wash the facial interface with cool water and a mild liquid detergent.
- Rinse thoroughly: Make sure to rinse out all soap residue.
- Air dry: Allow the facial interface to air dry completely before reattaching it to the headset.
- Reinstall: Snap the dry facial interface back into place on the headset.
Important Reminders
