Bug battery, inssue or normal?

I'm having a problem that I don't know if it's a defect or normal, when I leave the oculus on standby for a long time, like from Monday to Friday, it drops from 100% to about 50% for exemple, but when I pick them up on Friday and put them on my face and look at the battery, I see the battery jumping from 50 to 43, then to 39, then 34, 27 and it keeps jumping until it stabilizes at a low number like 23, then it goes slowly, 22, 21, 20... etc, is this normal?

I've already tried doing all of this and nothing worked, I even formatted the quest but it didn't help, it just made me realize that the installed WhatsApp and Instagram consumed a lot of battery in standby.

Hey @Sckhar.Dracolong, we're glad to hear that you've found what is causing the battery to drain so quickly.

When trying to save battery, it's beneficial to ensure that unnecessary apps are not left running in the background.

  • Close all your apps before you leave the headset on standby overnight. I always plug the charger back in as well. I also disabled auto-update and just update the headset manually when necessary. Whenever I notice anything unusual in battery consumption, I do a full power-off and back on. That always fixes it.

  • I just got a brand new Quest 3 a month ago, and after the recent update my battery has completely stopped charging. I left it plugged in overnight and was shocked to discover 0% battery.

How on earth is this even a thing? Reddit is LOADED with the exact issue I'm describing over the last 2 years. Updates that prevent a hardware's ability to charge is wild.

Much like Microsoft, this is how you can tell when they are using AI to produce their updates.
