When charging my quest 2, it keeps turning on, loading with the meta logo, showing the powering off/shutting down loading screen, then turning off, about 5 to 10 second delay then repeat. This has been happening when I've been charging it for the past few days. If I unplug it, it stops but seems to be dead.

Is the Quest sat in a case or anything when this is happening? Does the power button move freely (and still click once pressed?)

  Hey there @strongers-benjam! We can see that your Quest 2 is also having a hard time charging: in this situation, we'd suggest leaving the headset charging for at least 2 hours with the original charger, and if the LED light isn't turning on, try leaving it charging with an alternative charger.
  
  With the headset plugged in after these two hours, try holding the Volume Down and Power buttons until you see a screen that says "USB Update Mode": when that pops up, leave the headset charging a little bit more, then use the Volume buttons to highlight "Boot device" and the Power button to select it. We'll be waiting for your feedback!

    None of these suggestions worked to keep it powered off while connected to a charger. Why did this suddenly start happening, and why is it still an issue? I turn it off and expect it to stay off. It's extremely frustrating and unnecessary for the headset to turn itself on when plugged in. This just ensures that it's dead when I actually want to use it unless it's constantly charging. It's not like there's a new update every night.
    Please rollback whatever "feature" caused this. At this point, it's just suspicious.

Hi so mine was doing this so I have had to factory reset but now the screen on headset is stuck at the pairing screen. Controllers and headset have been paired to the app successfully but still nothing. This is very frustrating. Any suggestions?

I found the problem, the charger needs to be 20W (thats what im using after the same thing happened to me) I dont know why it auto boots up when your using a lower wattage charger but it didn’t boot up when I charged it with my 20W charger.

Good thread but hasn't solved my exact same issue. I've charged the headset for 36 hours using Samsung 25w charger (which charges my S23 super fast) AND I've done all the BIOS tricks. But selecting options like boot and factory reset and sideload update don't work for me. Headset cycles every 10 seconds from off to white side light plus static start screen. However, I've just noticed the red light has come on and stayed on! I'll let you know if this is good news!

I just had the same problem but I think I fixed it. If you have a Nintendo switch charger that you can use it will charge it correctly. I’m pretty sure you can buy one online.

So I have the same issue and I’m going to try to let it die completely because I also have an issue where it freezes up when is connected or disconnected from power and won’t accept a charger that can do more than 15W so it’s plugged in mostly all the time
