Controllers battery drain while the Quest 3 is off

I’m honestly getting really frustrated with this. I have a Meta Quest 3 and I’ve noticed that the controller batteries keep draining even when the headset is completely turned off. I’m not talking about standby or sleep mode — I mean fully powered down.

I put in brand new batteries, left the headset untouched for about two weeks, and when I came back, both controllers were totally dead. This keeps happening and it's unacceptable. Why are the controllers draining power when nothing is in use?

This should not be happening, and I’m hoping for an explanation and a real solution — because constantly swapping out dead batteries when the device isn’t even being used makes zero sense.
