Controllers not responding

My little brother gave me his old oculus and it was working fine about 5 hours ago. I turned it all the way off and left it to charge. Suddenly, I come back and the controllers won’t respond at all. The light will turn on on the controllers, they vibrate when the headset is put on, even fresh batteries. They won’t show up on the app and I’m logged out of the headset and can’t get in to headset settings on the app. This happened before and we couldn’t get them to connect for almost a year until somehow we did. We forgot how to do it. Does anyone else have this issue and know a quick fix or do I just have faulty controllers? Please help!

  • The headset probably updated while it was switched off. Simply use HAND TRACKING to select your profile and log on (aim and then pinch your fingers). The controllers should immediately update their software and start working again as soon as you sign back in.

Otherwise, in the phone app, tap your headset, then Headset settings, then Controllers, then +Pair new controller, choose Left/Right, and then press and hold the Meta/Menu button and the B/Y button on the controller until it vibrates and the light blinks, confirming connection.
