Couldn't launch Quest Link

I REALLY, TRULY don't have patience for this!!

 I get so angry when garbage I paid big money for doesn't work and I have to start wasting my precious time, looking for solutions, rather than enjoying what I paid for!

First it's the:

"Your computer doesn't meet the updated minimum specifications..."

Now in the headset:

"Couldn't Launch Quest Link

Quest Link can not be launched because your headset and Oculus PC app are not compatible. Please update them to the latest software version, then try again."

The problem with the above sentence is that it doesn't take into account , that this is a BRAND NEW LAPTOP WITH BRAND NEW INSTALL OF THE OCULUS APP!!!!

EVERYTHING is first time, freshly installed!!!!! I mean this is infuriating!!!! Prior to download Steam and Oculus app, everything was updated, latest NVidia drivers download then whatever is on the main page of Oculus/Meta and Steam has been downloaded and installed.

If I have installed something old, then it's on YOU, because I downloaded off your website following Quest 2 links.

I'm FUMING!!!!!!!

EDIT: I forgot to add, that everything was working just fine when I used the original charging cable, except it was complaining that it was connected to the USB2. But now I swapped it out with the original Meta Fiber optic $80 cable! And this is the thank you I get!!

      Hey i've run into the same problem as you but i have no idea how to fix it i checked everything but nothing seems to work can u tell please how did u get it to work?

        Hey SchiroFearless! We would love to help you get this figured out. We know PCVR is a unique experience, and we want to make sure our users are able to enjoy it without any problems. Let's go ahead and start out by making sure your PC is compatible and your graphic drivers are up-to-date. We would also like to ask if and what error messages you are receiving. We can also suggest repairing the app, and if that does not help, you can also try uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

  • I have a similar problem over Air Link:  I get a problem which says "Dash encountered a fatal error press any button to reload" and it gets stuck there.  I've updated everything and airlink says it works fine.  I don't have the usb c cable hooked up.

      Hey there, Rastablastaa. Thanks for bringing to our attention you're experiencing a similar issue while trying to enjoy PCVR. We definitely want to make sure you're able to get up and running smoothly, so we'd love to take a further look into your PC and how the device is communicating. 

      To help get us started, we would like to confirm the following: 

      • Make sure any antivirus, VPN, or firewalls are disabled
      • Make sure your PC is fully updated
      • If possible, test to see if the same error appears when using a Link cable.
      • Is this error seen while launching Meta Quest games or other platforms?
      • Has Air Link worked fine in the past?
        • If so, what changes, if any, have been made to the PC or device?

      Once we're able to gather more insight, we'll continue digging deeper into your PC and our software. We hope to hear from you soon!

    Hi, all of my software is up to date, I've restarted the headset and app multiple times but I still can not get the quest link to launch and/or even recognize my laptop- I am specifically using the cable meant for this and it has worked before- Please help

      Thanks for bringing this to our attention, to get you back up and running as soon as possible could you please answer the following questions,

      1. What error messages, if any do you see?
      2. When did these issues begin?
      3. Was there any updates to your PC before the issue started?
      4. Have you tried to get this to work on any other devices?
      5. Does the headset work when not connected to a PC?
      6. Are you connecting your USB to a USB 3 port?
      7. What type of cable are you using? If possible could you try another compatible cable? Is the cable you are using an official Meta Quest Link Cable?
      8. Is there an adapter or cable extender being used?
      9. How many USB devices are currently in use? If possible please test with the bare minimum of devices.
      10. Have you tried reinstalling the Oculus Link app?
