Distorted corner

I start by apologizing if there's already some topic about this, but I'm currently fuming and need some advice before making decisions. I'd really appreciate a link to a valid topic if already exists.

Without going into detail, someone insisted in trying my Meta Quest 3, and made a ruinous fall due to headspin despite warnings (they're fine), and now, while using the headset, the top left corner looks distorted, in a way that really bothers normal use and sends the view out of focus.

Doesn't seem to have any visual damage on the outside, external cameras or lenses.

Does someone have any advice?

Thank you all in advance, and Merry Christmas.

  • Make sure the faceplate is correctly fitted and not coming loose. Also check if the glasses spacer adjustment is uneven or damaged/detaching. Also, try adjusting the IPD spacing wheel.

Sorry to hear what happened.. Try what steve_40 advises.. One possibility is that the lcd screen has either been dislodged from its housing and that's why it's distorted, worse case scenario is the lcd has been damaged. Hopefully and fingers crossed, it's not that. Also just check that the lens on that side hasn't popped out slightly, push it back in to be sure.

  • Worst case scenario, if you live in USA, you could send the headset to Fix my oculus. They will diagnose it for free (including free postage) and give you a quote for repair.
