Does passthrough automatically force roomscale boundary to stationary?

I'm having a problem where opening Virtual Desktop changes my roomscale boundary to stationary. I don't want this.

I contacted Meta Quest and Virtual Desktop, and the VD devs said that passthrough forces the boundary to change. I tried telling this to meta support, but they were unable to confirm or deny my question.

So I come to this board to ask the same question. Does passthrough force roomscale boundary to switch to stationary?
