Dont use glasses under your Quest 3!!
Hi all. Im quite angry about meta about this. Although they dont negate that you can play with glasses under your Quest 3 they should Not permit it or do Not recommend it in any Form instead of saying "yes you can" to get more buyers. Yesterday i scratched my lenses although i usted the spacer on max Level (4). Played some hefty round Dungeons of Eternity and after taking them of I noted the scratch. The glasses rubbed against the lenses. Now im lost with my Quest 3, about a month old, with a Scratch on the right lens without any support or warranty (scratched lenses are not covered nor was PLUS available in EU)
I know its my own dumb luck but im angry about Meta that they do not espacially inform about the Risks of using glasses although with Spacer on max, experiencing that the space is not really stable on lvl 4, feels like chinese craft or Bad design.
Simply saying you can use glasses but you should use inset lenses, without any repair service available is in my opinión not User oriented and a bad informing without enfasing the risk.
From Personal experience. If you Love your Quest 3 DONT USE glasses under your Quest 3 if the Game has a higher pace or you have to incline you head much to different directions. The Spacer does not protect your lenses and you will Scratch them one day.
I've use glasses with all my oculus/meta headsets starting with a Rift cv1 and now a Q3. I've never had any issues with my glasses scratching my headset lens. My glasses are rimless Ti frames with high index lens (thinner/lighter) and measure 140x40mm. The only time I used a supplied spacer was with my Q2, and that was really just to make the outer screen outline a little more rounded. With my Q3, I started out with the spacing at max but now have it on the closest position and my glasses still don't even come close to contacting the Q3 lens. The main thing I've found is that you need to try to initially place the headset squarely, face-on. If you put it on angled up/down you can potentially contact the lens (= simple geometry).
If you looked at the startup info, including video on the meta support website, this should help.
In any case, I feel your pain mate. All I can do is suggest you contact meta support and see i they can help you. Good luck and cheers.
