Dont use glasses under your Quest 3!!

Hi all. Im quite angry about meta about this. Although they dont negate that you can play with glasses under your Quest 3 they should Not permit it or do Not recommend it in any Form instead of sayin...

    I've use glasses with all my oculus/meta headsets starting with a Rift cv1 and now a Q3.  I've never had any issues with my glasses scratching my headset lens.  My glasses are rimless Ti frames with high index lens (thinner/lighter) and measure 140x40mm.  The only time I used a supplied spacer was with my Q2, and that was really just to make the outer screen outline a little more rounded.  With my Q3, I started out with the spacing at max but now have it on the closest position and my glasses still don't even come close to contacting the Q3 lens.  The main thing I've found is that you need to try to initially place the headset squarely, face-on.  If you put it on angled up/down you can potentially contact the lens (= simple geometry).

    If you looked at the startup info, including video on the meta support website, this should help.

    My glasses are also quite thin. 138x43 (inside the suggested margin) and normally there wasnt any problem. If i would assume maybe it happened while taking of the headset in a bad angle without pushing totally back the glasses on my nose before taking the VR off. So similar effect like you mentioned while putting on the VR. 

    In conclusion i think its not safe to you glasses with VR. Too many variables and no moderate repair options....

    I was planning to get lenses for Quest 3 but hadn't the opportunity to renew my prescription until now. Like you suggested i contacted META but i do not have much hope because its not in warranty and in our zone there wasnt available META PLUS warranty.

    I like the VR headset but didn´t think it would be this problematic although following the manual letter by letter.

    I've scratched my lenses even taking a lot of care also. I was playing with the headset and did hit the headset on my desk while trying to pick up a game piece at the floor. Even it was a very light impact, it was sufficient to make the headset to get closer to my face making my glasses lenses to touch the headset lens.

    So now I'm frustrated by having a scratch on my headset lenses.
