Faceplate Buttons Are not Locking

I bought elite strap. Had to remove the faceplate to get the new strap on but now the right side of the faceplate button depth adjustment won't lock.

Any advice?

    So I ended up taking it back off. I had to fiddle with it for quite a while and it ended up being locked into postion at one point and the button was stuck in an up position for awhile. Ended up putting some thin plastic spreaders between the two sliding plates and got it unstuck and then it was free floating again for awhile and then suddenly I am not even sure what I did it was back in working order and the button was working and locking like it should. Assembled back on the unit by only touching the inside plate this time (the one that actually snaps in) and it is all good. But this did have me panicked for a bit. :-)
