Follower requests behaviour

I used to receive follower requests – which I could accept or decline – this is how I set it in privacy -center.

For a few weeks now, for some reason, I've only been getting notification like this  "@xxxx is now following you. Follow back"?

So, my privacy settings gets just ignored?

    This is likely because the platform has changed the way follower notifications work. Even if your privacy settings were set to approve requests, new updates may automatically notify you when someone follows you without giving you the option to accept/decline.

    I noticed that too. I never really thought about it but you're right. The request to follow should come first.

      Yes, how it works now, is like it isn't enabled in the settings.

      I guess, this came after an update...... but I can't recall which one😅

      That's really strange.... I mean, my settings are completely useless if it works that way.
