GRAY SCREEN DUE TO LATEST V78 UPDATE
Hello dear friends, after reading many cases similar to mine, I saw that you suggest sending you direct messages. My Meta Quest 3 headset, with the latest v78 update, stopped working, and the screen went permanently gray. I've tried all the reboots, but it still doesn't work and remains on the gray screen. The controls do not interact with the glasses, when connecting them to the PC as always it no longer recognizes the glasses connected to the computer nor does it appear in the PC or cell phone application, it simply says that it is not connected, it only interacts with the cable and the computer when I reinstall the software from the official meta page and which currently continues to offer version v78 to install, throughout the reinstallation process the glasses interact with the PC without any problem and it takes all the time for both the computer and the glasses to load the update up to 100% then the glasses restart and a symbol appears as if it were a chip with an arrow inside and below it has a loading bar that turns green, then it restarts again and the meta logo appears spinning, at no time do the glasses emit sound, and after all that the glasses stay on so it looks as if it were gray, at no time does an image appear or the external cameras are activated, they simply only remain permanently gray until the battery runs out, I connect them with their original cable and they charge without problems until The green LED on the glasses comes on, and if I turn them off in the menu that appears when I press and hold the power button and the volume down button for 30 seconds, the glasses go black and the battery charge status appears, and nothing else happens.
If you perform a hard shutdown or restart by holding the power button for 15 or 30 seconds, when restarting, the glasses restart a process where a chip with an arrow pointing down appears inside, and the charging bar pops up. The glasses charge back to 100% and restart. The moving logo appears, and then the screen returns to gray permanently unless I interact with resetting them to factory settings, forcing a shutdown, or reinstalling the available software following all the instructions.
I bought the glasses at the Meta store through Amazon. I'm currently in Chile with the glasses, and after registering and activating them on Meta, it still says I have a valid warranty. I urgently need help recovering my glasses. I'm worried sick, not knowing what else to do. All I can find on the forums is that this has happened to many people with the latest Meta update. I need your technical support and a real solution as soon as possible before my first-year warranty expires.
I'm going to share this message on the forums so other users can also find a solution by following up on my case. This is a major concern given the large investment involved in acquiring the glasses. I also invested in a complete accessory setup for the glasses, and they have no use other than for the Meta Quest 3. I also have the Meta Quest 2, and nothing from the 3 works with the 2, so it's a large investment that's at risk with the glitch generated with the latest update.
