Height Issue

It seems that not only I, but many other people are experiencing this issue as well.

When I connect my headset to a PC with a cable to play SteamVR games, the height is often incorrect when the session starts.

In that case, I can fix it by going to Settings → Physical Space → Boundary -> Create New Boundary and adjusting it.

However, the bigger problem is that if I place the headset on a desk or table for a few minutes while I'm playing games and then put it back on, the height resets based on the surface where the headset was placed. As a result, I have to turn off the steam game and go to option and recalibrate the floor level again.

This is quite inconvenient. Is there any way to permanently fix or lock the floor height so that it does not reset regardless of where the headset is placed?

  • I've never experienced this on our two Quest 3 headsets. In Link, you can set the boundary via the Link dashboard when connected to a PCVR session.

    Settings>Guardian>Adjust Guardian.

SteamVR has its own height and boundary settings. Some games also have their own height adjustment settings. So make sure they are not conflicting with each other.
