Help anyone?

My sons quest3s will turn what he sees even when he is not turning his head.  VR starts okay, then problem will occur within minutes. This virtually(excuse the pun) makes it unplayable. Help anyone?

  • Harambe123456 Don't apologise, it's a good pun! OK, make sure the sensors/cameras are all clean. Also check that your son hasn't dropped the headset accidentally,, and make sure the sensor inside the headset isn't blocked or needs clean. Also try a reset. With the headset switched on, hold the side button until you see a menu, choose restart and it might also fix it. If not connect the headset to your pc and run the Meta Software Update tool. It can fix a faulty update. I'll put a link below. Finally, if that doesn't work try a factory reset. Make sure cloud backup is enabled in the headset and backup all the apps and games so no progress is lost. Then factory reset and restore everything. If none of this works, you'll need to contact Meta support and they will advise you from there.

Here's the Meta Software Update tool link. Good luck!

Maybe one of the controllers is drifting? You could test this by going to a game where the turning happens, then before the problem occurs, take the battery out of the controller that is used for turning. Now sit there for a while and see if the turning problem no longer occurs. If it doesn't, it would indicate that there's an issue with that controller. It could be software, or it could be a physical issue like dust/corrosion/damage in the thumbstick mechanism.
