had a few problems over the past few days with my quest 2 stuck on a black screen. reset it today using the online tool and put it on charge. 15 minutes later i could smell burning. The proximity sensor between the lenses has melted through the front of the headset. Any idea how i could report this to meta ? possibly get a replacement

Keep your headset dry...... your black screen issues and the melted proximity sensor are probably caused by sweat going into the headset.

Just in case you'll buy a Quest 3/3s...if you are playing games or do workouts that makes you sweat a lot, you should consider to buy a open /breathable facial interface.
yeh i did think it was sweat related. i was gonna replace the sensor myself then it combusted. guess ill just buy a 3. just glad it wasn't on mine or my sons head when it burnt.

Just take care to keep your new headset dry, Quest 3 also have issues when sweat goes inside. 😉
