HELP!! Oculus Rift Display Port Disconnecting

Hello Meta Support,

Can you help me find a solution to my Oculus Rift issue.

The Display Port Keeps Disconnecting. Once plugged in to the Graphics Card I get a green light to move on, but 5 seconds later it goes red again?

I have tried every available internet solution provided on these forums and else where.

  • Uninstall and Reinstall all software associated.
    • including removing all leftover files from Oculus and Meta in the appData folders before a fresh install
  • Updated all software and drivers
  • Checked and rechecked all physical connections
  • No other errors are presenting themselves to explain issue.

This Rift device worked without a problem a little over 6 months ago and has been stored safely ever since - So I've ruled out physical damage to any part of device itself.

I have tried to create a support ticket for this, but that is practically impossible!!!! I am constantly told that the serial number provided does not match the Meta account!! Assumed this is because I moved my Oculus account over to Meta and registered devices did not follow??. Or the association of accounts Facebook/Oculus/Meta does not carry over some device info - I don't know t.b.h - Extremely frustrating to not be able to create a support/help ticket without a purchased and registered to account device.

Is there anything you can do help or is my headset useless to me now?

Thanks in advance,

    Hey there,

We realise that connection issues are holding back your PC Metaverse experience, and we'd like to see what we can do to help!

We appreciate you letting us know that your issue is persisting after attempting to troubleshoot the issue, however, we do also have a workaround which we understand has helped other users with this issue, with details provided below:

    1. Start the Microsoft Services Console (Start → Search → services.msc) .
    2. Find "OVRService".
    3. Right-click "OVRService", select "Properties", and find "Startup type" in the General tab. 4
    4. Select "Automatic (Delayed Start)" from the drop-down menu. This option will make Windows wait until all services set to "Automatic" are started before starting the OVRService service.
    5. Wait 2-3 minutes, click the "Apply" button, and then click "OK".
    6. Restart your PC.

We hope this helps, however, as we'll need to gather some further information about your setup, please get in touch with us over Private Message, and we can see what options we have available to help!
