On my daughter's new headset, while I was setting it up and pairing it, a message appeared (I think it was on the phone app) asking if I wanted to activate the 3-month free trial. I activated it from my phone on my own account (headset admin), then used App Sharing so that my daughter could access the games. I had to download the games to my own account, then my daughter can see them available to install from her library.
I think also, if you go to the Store app while logged in to your parental account on the new headset and select the Horizon+ tab, it will show you that you have the 3-month trial offer available to subscribe to. Also, look under the "Promotions" tab in the Store app.
