Horizon worlds desktop editor not responding on load

Hi, I’m experiencing a persistent issue with Horizon Worlds Desktop Editor on my PC. After installing and launching the app, it immediately shows a black screen and becomes unresponsive (“Not Responding”). 

I contacted the PC shop and they looked at specs and requirements and the logs and they didn’t understand it, said it should be no issue on my computer and suggested a re-install which I have done several times.

Windows Version: Fully updated Windows 10 (latest patches installed after a full factory reset)

Drivers: Latest NVIDIA drivers installed with clean install

Antivirus: tried with it turned off

Run as Admin: Tried launching as administrator

Compatibility Mode: Tested Windows 8 compatibility mode and disabled fullscreen optimizations

Log: Shows “Windows cannot access the file horizon.exe” error on crash 

DirectX 12

Updated c++ redistributables 

Additional notes: Meta Quest Link works fine on my PC with this, as does the latest Unity and in fact this is the only software I’ve ever had a problem with.

Has anybody had this problem and can suggest anything I’ve not tried?
