I ordered mine on day 1.
It initially had issues with my PC (all the common issues) but putting it on a powered usb hub fixed everything and it's been smooth sailing ever since.
Things I like better about the Rift-S compared to CV1:
- Higher res
- Almost no pressure on my face due to halo strap
- longer cable
- easier to set up when using somewhere else
- pass through cameras
- less weak spots that can break on the headset (cable and audio wire breaks were notorious on CV1)
Things I prefer about the CV1
- IPD adjustment (mine isn't 64 like the Rift-S is stuck on)
- better sound
- better black levels
- better tracking
- better controllers
- no knob on the back of the headset to make sitting in a high back recliner chair annoying
- less weak spots that can break on the controllers (the CV1 controllers were tough as hell, Rift-S controllers felt flimsy)
I haven't used my CV1 in quite a while though. I only use my Rift-S and Quest 3.
*Sigh*
Yet another reddit copy/paste.
I'm not sure which drives me away from this forum more: the spammers copy/pasting reddit threads or the never ending flood of facebook/instagram users who think this VR forum is for facebook/instagram support.
