Hi - simple question, but how do I change my kids' age through the Family Centre? I have tried, but it keeps telling me something went wrong and to contact support, which I also can't figure out. Seems unnecessarily difficult to do really simple things.

It is absolutely infuriating that Meta are acting like Tyrants about this. Everything about this "Child protection" is creepy and as we all know, has NOTHING to do with protecting children.
Machinegunkenny Actually not providing this level of protection for children would be creepy. Allowing easy access........that would be creepy. The lower age limit for children is 10 years old, only with parental consent for obvious reasons relating to physical and mental wellbeing. Yet there have been people here who are allowing 5 to 8 year olds use headsets, and others who have allowed young kids to play age restricted games. They're the creeps. Just bear in mind, Meta is following child safety rules set out by governments. Don't blame them.
Meta, knock your crap off and let us change our childrens age as we see fit and give us the PROPER settings within Meta to allow our kids to use these VR headsets. Seriously I am so close to taking a hammer to the 3 headsets I now have over this! Will just move my kids to Steam VR and will buy new devices.
I think you can adjust a child's age in Family Center, but only within the same age group. If you try to change it across Meta's regulated categories (under‑10 → 10–12, or 10–12 → 13+), the system blocks it and shows the "something went wrong" error.
Moving between age groups requires creating a new account, because Meta has to comply with child‑safety laws. The UI doesn't explain this well, which is why it feels broken.
