How do I get exact details on why my account was reported and restricted

Meta sent me an email saying my account was reported to have violated their code of conduct and has been restricted. I had given my friend's 11 year old daughter my headset to use for a bit, and she says she only explored worlds and chatted with her friends there. I requested an appeal using the link in the email Meta sent me, and they replied within minutes saying they had reviewed the case again and confirmed I breached their policies so the restriction on my account remains. How do I know what exactly happened so I can avoid another breach in policy? How do I confirm this isnt just someone randomly or maliciously reporting my account for no reason? It is not fair on users for Meta to accuse them of breaching their policies without saying which exact policy was breached or giving evidence such as a screenshot or video recording to support their claim. This seems like a wrongful accusation to me. I only just bought my Meta headset about two months ago and I'm unhappy to be finding myself accused of something I know absolutely nothing about. How do I get more details and evidence of this alledged policy breach?

    Hey there,

We know how eager you are to get back into the world of VR, but are currently unable to do so due to your Meta account having been restricted.

At Meta Quest Support we know that the safety of our users is absolutely paramount. Based on the information you have provided we wanted to advise you that Meta Quest headsets can be enjoyed by users aged between 10-12 years old, but they must have a Meta account that is set up and managed by their parent or guardian, which include parental approval, additional parental controls, data privacy features, and management and monitoring features. Further information regarding this can be found here.

We really appreciate your understanding regarding this matter and if you'd like us to investigate the issue with your account further, then please drop us a private message. To do so, please select our name to get to our profile page, or click here: https://metaque.st/CommunitySupport. Next, click "Send a Message" to privately message us! Please remember, you must be signed into the community first to send us a private message.

We hope you find this information helpful!

  • My guess is that your friend's 11 year old daughter was reported because she was using your adult account.  I believe you she didn't do or say anything wrong but she may have talked to someone who realized that she was a kid.   You probably should have made a second "kid" profile and lock yours before handing your headset over.
