I get on Meta Quest 3: your device needs update sometimes and then headset goes black completely. No LEDs nothing, after holding power button it boots again. I Am just careful and I Am not sure if this is right procedure. How do i tell update has finished so i don't interrupt it in middle! There is nothing in user manual!
It's only updated when it tells you it's updated and says restart the headset.. It looks like you might be interrupting the updates which can result in a bricked headset. Just put the headset down and let it do its thing, though it's possible you've done some damage already if you have constantly interrupted the update process.
Like Maccyb123 said. Also, if it bothers you, go into your Settings and disable all the automatic update settings. Then regularly check your settings to see if the headset needs an update and do it manually. That's how I do it.
