Hyperscape uploading issues

Hi there,

I scanned my 1+1 70m2 home and it took around 2 hours. I was very careful and slow to capture better. Even had to carry powerbank with me :) But I can't upload my scanning. It stuck at %100 and tried couple of times already. I am quite dissapointed after all efford :) Is there any way to solve it? Did I capture overly?

    Hey there nsuniverse,

After doing a little testing ourselves it would seem that the maximum scan size would be 8m2,  we hope this helps.

    Thanks.

Well, I did scan my 70m2 little home before and uploaded, succesfully mapped with hyperscape. This time I scanned again same place but being more detailed and careful.

So, it's impossible 8m2 is the limit what you said :)

Someone else did some testing in a field and reported that the max size captured is 8m x 8m or 64 m².

  • I recorded my place earlier, but it was just a quick test. It worked fine, so I decided to make a slower, better version. But now I’m struggling to upload it. I’ve already tried six times, and every time it freezes at 100%. Apparently, there’s no help from Meta… really frustrating and disappointing.

      Hi nsuniverse 🙂

Maybe that's why it works, even though the space is larger than recommended?

I guess there is quite a difference in upload size between a quick scan and a very detailed scan.

It's just an idea.....I don't know if that's the reason for the failing upload.🤷‍♀️

  • Yes, both are from the same place. But the detailed one just won’t upload somehow. What’s really disappointing is that I spent so much time on it. :(

here, hold my beer, I scanned a 1992 sq ft , 2 story house before tenants moved in. If it anyhow makes you happier - I'm also stuck at 100% upload.

Don't ask how much time it took to scan it )

Alright, I’ll give you the bad news then… it will never be uploaded. Anything that takes more than 35 minutes to scan is almost impossible to upload.
Funny thing is, I scanned my living room in great detail in 30 minutes. Then I did it again in just 10 minutes and guess what? The 10-minute one looks much better. Both were scanned at the same time, with the same setup and daylight conditions.

Sooo, an update here: was able to upload my giant scan today with no issues on first try - I believe headset got updated on Nov 6 to V81.1034.

Unfortunately, after about 2 hours of processing, I got "Failed to create world" error.
There is a discussion or rather a report about this state here, but not much hope or guidance at this time.

  • I scanned my deck and yard which is  8.5m x 17m = 144 sq metres and Hyperscape captured and processed it succesfully. I think the upload was about 28Gb and took about an hour.

  • Your scan might be too large or the upload got stuck due to connection issues. Try compressing the file or uploading again on a stable network. If it still doesn’t work, contact support at for help.

  • Interestingly, I scanned a small room last night. It was taking a while to upload, so I put my headset down. The sleep timer was set to only 1 minute. When I put my headset on a few minutes later, the upload had, of course timed out and started again from 0%. I got bored of waiting for it to upload, so I closed the app, wondering if it would still upload while the app was closed. I opened the app again after several minutes, and it said "upload failed". So, I closed the app and completely powered off the headset and went to bed. In the morning, I turned on my headset and opened the app. Surprisingly, my room was already uploaded and fully processed and ready to view. Surely it couldn't have uploaded while the headset was powered off (not sleeping), could it??? Or did it give a false "upload failed" message when it had actually uploaded successfully?
