  • 1.2 Million files / 1.7 GB here, booting Windows took minutes vs the usual seconds, File explorer was almost unable to cope with this file amount. This is a scandal, releasing such an untested update, they practically deployed a Trojan virus. Will Meta pay for the M.2 SSD wear?

      Open cmd

      cd /
      del *fba_ads_*.json

Wait until the deletion process is completed

  • i get this trouble again. more than 1M files like this. My computer started so long... I thinking it's a hardware trouble. But not. This is 1299999 meta files slow down my PC.
    Any new solution for this?

  • Now I play in other game. I delete files. And new files generated in a seconds. I remove, remove and remove. New files generated, every milliseconds.

  • Experiencing the same issue, crashed my pc so bad windows wouldn't boot anymore. Had to remove files with command line and then uninstalled the app until they fix that.

  • I would never belive that company like this would do this !!! 1.3M files on my ssd !!! Cant even browse my drive because of this meta/oculus virus !!! Meta is overloading our SSD drives and short its life... Instead of big apology to all meta users they remain silent. This is really really bad !

It's crazy... I'm pretty sure my SSD got permanent damage from this, it's super slow to boot since this happened, even after getting rid of the files and Meta app.

They should warn all users that app is now acting like virus and can damage your hardware ! Is there some authorities to report this ??? My SSD went from 15s to 40s+ !!!    By default, SSDs come with a limited lifespan. With every writing process, the SSD becomes less efficient. This is because to overwrite data, the existing data must be erased first. For this, NAND chips require voltage to send electrons through the insulator. Congrats meta this time you **** ** my new SSD !!!

  • The fact that Meta has said nothing about this upsets me to my deepest core, is there decency in anything anymore ? Why is it that mostly all Fortune 500 companies have just gotten lazier rather than improving themselves ? My SSD is on two crutches and a pegleg, barely holding itself up after your software (practically malware) brutally fisted it . I can understand making mistakes, but the fact that this has been a well issue for two years for so many users really shows how you care for your consumers .
Anyways Meta please send me a new internal 3TB NVME, these things aren't cheap for us that don't own Fortune 500 companies . Also the name Oculus was better .
