I need help with a Stream im trying to set up

Hi smart people, first off thanks for taking the time to read and answer-

Whenever i try to Live Stream VR Games, i got my rate set to 20k but connection drops to 5k anytime i open a vr game in the Oculus library- ANYTHING, pure single player games, just being in the start menu- pretty much Shuts down my stream, and the Vr headset connection, .

Im connected per link cable to my pc, the Headset says its connected per cable, the PC says its connected per cable. It just seems that whenever i try to start a game my internet gets all used up and terrible for no reason.

Im on a 3060ti and ryzen 7 5700x 3d 32 gb ram- recording is no issue whatsoever, and the obs log has no errors and nothing concerning bitrate or internet connection whatsoever. There is also no mentioning of encoding overload and lost frames is at 0.5%. I record vr gameplays all the time with no problems, and i stream recent title games all the time with great quality

I can use OBS to monitor the streams rate, and it drastically drops any time, i start any vr game of any kind while live streaming.

I really need some Help. Because i dont understand, first i bought a new router cause i thought it was the router, then i bought the link cable- and now i still cant stream.

Any help would be greatly apprechiated. Thank you again

    Hi PapaHellmann,

Thanks for reaching out about the streaming issues that you've been facing.

We at Meta Store Support want you to be enjoying your VR time to its fullest, and not having to worry about troubleshooting these kinds of issues.

To that effect, we would be happy to try and help you resolve this issue, and get you back to enjoying your content creation.

We would suggest attempting any of these general troubleshooting steps if you haven't already, to see if they can mitigate the bandwidth problem.

    • Ensure that when using a link cable, that air link is disabled in the headset settings.
    • Use the repair function for the app, by re-running the Meta Quest setup file.
    • Check that the Meta Quest drivers are all up to date-
    1. Close the Meta Quest Link app.
    2. Press the Windows key + R on your keyboard to open the Run command.
    3. Enter C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-drivers. (File path may be different per user based on the install location)
    4. Open oculus-driver.
    5. Open the Meta Quest Link app and then try to connect your headset again.
    • Disable Wi-Fi on the Quest headset.
    • If either- ASUS AI Suite or ASUS AI Suite 3 or Oculus Tray Too are running then uninstall, and test to see if the drop in bandwidth still continues.
    • Check if another app platform is still creating the same drop in bandwidth (Steam VR, Remote Desktop, etc)
    • Test your network connection with RouteThis, as it specifically designed to detect any wi-fi issues with the Quest headset.

If you are still running into the same problem after attempting these steps, then please contact our friendly support team, either by Private Message, or emailing Meta Store Support and we can look into further solutions for you.

    Thanks!
