Known Issue - Rainbow screen artifacts Natively and PCVR

technically, VD is a standalone “game”. its an app you install natively on the Quest. I notice the artifacting in all standalone apps and games just about. the only place i havent seen them are through Airlink and possibly Steam Link but havent tested that one enough.

a gave the first three back to the store because i thought they were BROKEN. my 4th headset now did a forced update to v.60 even though i set automatic updates to off in the settings.

artifacts are only happening in PCVR. And my pc is not the problem because as soon as I start screen recording in the quest 3 headset the artifacts are gone

i am quiet angry about this. now in v.60 i have massive screen artifacts and charging problems while in use AGAIN.

Please MetaStoreHelp give us customers, who like that product a oppurtunity to downgrade back to a working version. it cant be that hard.

i can imagine much people are going to refund their devices because they think it is broken

This is obviously a meta issue with update v60 and how it's utilizing the gpu/cpu. You guys pushed it somehow and now, pcvr games cause this issue. Why starting a recording makes the artifacts stop temporarily is beyond me but me and him both have discovered that.

This has to be fixed on your side. V60 was not properly tested, atleast with pcvr. 

I, like many others are getting these white artifacts. It is getting ridiculous at this point. Please raise this with the developers. It needs marking as high priority in their next sprint. Offering a short term solution of a gpu eco mode at the very least. Lower clock speed to prevent the instability. Or just find a more stable overclock. Looking through all the forums on here and reddit this is a long standing issue. You need to push for a solution asap. People have paid hard earned money for a product that hasn't been tested thoroughly. From the very first quest there have been issues of all kinds. This is unacceptable. 

The exact same thing is happening to my Quest 3. i just started noticing it today. Quite distracting when I use passthrough and other apps like Prime. i think its a bug that came with the last update. Hopefully the developers will patch this up. Im sorry this is happening to you. Im just glad to know that Im not the only one with this problem.

tamasakura  Sparkling while watching Prime Video movies seems to have been fixed with today’s v60 update version 60.0.0.193.366, for me anyway.

Like many other have said. I am also getting artifacting after the v60 update. Sounds like others have had it for longer than that but mine just started with this update. It happens all the time both in standalone games and PVCR. I've tried everything I can think of. As well as other recommendations. Nothing works.

4. I have noticed it mainly in PCVR tho some have said it can happen in standalone games depending on the game I suppose. I am not on any PTC or betas etc. 

5. I have no work around, though I can tell you that this has to be because meta has pushed the gpu on the quest 3 too hard in the last update. There was some overclocking done I believe, and it wasn't tested thoroughly and is unstable. I would guess it needs to be dialed back a bit to fix this... I've seen these same white line/rainbow line artifacts when over clocking PC gpu's in the past.

Please let me know what u can do I know others are reporting the same 

I just returned my last headset, and the new one is coming tomorrow. I’ll provide you the information as soon as I get it.

It's probably going to come down to the game itself so whether it does standalone or not depends on who is playing what but everyone using pcvr is experiencing it because it's taking more power from the headset to decide. I think what has actually happened is that Meta has overclocked the gpu on the quest 3 too much and that is what is causing this. They didn't thoroughly test it. To fix it all they would have to do is back down the gpu max clock a little or maybe it's a voltage issue but I've seen these artifacts when over clocking PC gpu's before. Respond to @TheAntiSocializer's post and answer the questions because nobody is doing what he asked and it seems like he is trying to help get this noticed by meta.
