In the past this button was used to turn off the battery strap, so it doesn't self discharge in a few hours when Quest is not used. But after updates turning off the strap also doesn't work, so I just unplug it from headset after it finishes charging.
Btw welocome to Meta world. Now your life will be filled with many different and irritating bugs.
szerwony I just got non-ptc v81.1034 yesterday on my Q3/512Gb headset and now the Q3 Elite battery strap button no longer seems to do anything.
Also, still no coordinated charging with headset led indicator. I seem to need to charge it connected until the battery pack shows a green light. Then disconnect the strap cable and charge up the headset battery separately until it shows a green light.
Meta really needs to fix this asap imho. In the meantime all we can do is continue to submit bug reports I guess, lol! Cheers.

Fully power off the headset. If your charge cable isn't plugged in to the Elite battery, plug it in. Wait for the orange LED on the Elite battery to go out (if it is on). Press and hold the button on the Elite battery - a green LED should come on after a few seconds - keep holding the button but release it immediately when the green LED goes out but before it starts blinking orange. Put the headset on (but don't fire it up) and check to confirm that it shows both batteries in the eyepieces. Both batteries will charge up, no need to disconnect the Elite battery from the headset.
