Meta is scamming me with Meta Quest 3 because of its latest update v78.0

I bought the glasses, and they still have a valid first-year warranty. With the latest update, v78.0, the glasses stopped working completely. The screen went gray, and I followed all the instructions provided by Meta, under the supervision of Meta technicians or assistants. I have exchanged more than 50 emails with Meta. I am currently in Chile and have an address and mailbox in Miami. Meta is telling me that there is simply no solution available and that I should assume I lost the investment in the glasses, along with accessories and apps that cost around $1,000. This is unacceptable: losing my money because Meta decided to stop my glasses from working with their latest update. I demand a solution.

  • . if it doesn't show the boot icon, bring it to a repair shop that can fix vr headsets, as there might be hope perhaps although there is little to no way knowing what caused it with the update.

V78.0 is a stable update. I have it.  Try a hard reset. Turn off the headset. Hold the power button and volume down simultaneously and see if the screen gives you a factory reset option and go for it. I hope you get it solved. Good luck. 🤞🤞

  • If your headset is under warranty, and the troubleshooting didn't solve the problem, then Meta must offer you a replacement headset under consumer law.
