Meta Link installation error

Refuses to install on Windows 11. Tried many times. Re-booted many times. Deleted folders as suggested and re-tried. No change. Just keeps saying it encountered an error. It goes through installation and you see files installed in all the places but nothing appears in 'installed programs'. You would think it would uninstall what has been installed before aborting and flagging an error. Just to say there is an error is hardly helpful, with the only suggestion to reboot and try again.

I have had Meta installed before but stopped using it as it never connected reliably (I have Quest 3) so changed to VD and all worked smoothly.
