It's not so much the headset as it is the OS. Pretty much anything on the platform published by Meta over the last 2 years is notorious for being buggy and glitchy. I just made a post here last night complaining about how horrendous the lag is in Horizon Worlds, and how it constantly keeps crashing.
I've doing a little research on Reddit and on this forum and from what I've learned, Zuck didn't want to hire on an independent team of devs that specialize in game development, so he just pulled developers from the Facebook team. According to the grapevine, NONE of the developers for Horizon Worlds or Quest 2/3 play video games, develop video games, or have any inkling of interest in VR.
Even before I learned this, my experiences in Horizon Worlds left me thinking, "This platform seems like it was developed by a bunch of people who had no idea what they were doing." Seems I was right.
Incidentally -- make sure you're not playing with the charger plugged in. If the processor gets too hot, it'll slow down. Likewise, don't leave it plugged into the charger after it's fully charged (green light) -- the lithium ion battery apparently degrades faster if left plugged in on 100% charge.
