I think I have the same issue. I will try to sum it up:
1. The headset works great. Play beatsaber for an hour each night. When I'm done, I put it on the charger, everything is working fine.
2. The next time I go to play, I put the headset on and get a message that the tracking is lost or something. The display is black except for the message window which is always in the center even if I move my head around. Controllers do not work. I can only power down and up by pressing the button.
3. I hold the volume button while powering up and use the prompt to reboot. Still no controllers and I use the volume to select. It reboots but still the same issue.
4. I do a factory reset by the same method. It factory resets and I see the rotating meta logo which is bright at first but goes dim as it boots. I see a multi-colored background for just a 10th of a second and then the screen is black but is backlit, and I hear ambient audio. Now, there is no message screen, just backlit-black. Maybe grey-ish?
This is my third refurbished headset that has done the same thing. I have a quest 2 that has never had this issue. I keep working with Meta support and they keep sending me refurbished headsets. This is getting really old. It would be nice to get a copy of the returned headset inspection report to see what broke. Is it something that I am doing?
The last time I worked with support, it was suggested that leaving it plugged into the charger overnight could cause this issue. I did buy an outlet timer with a two hour cycle so it will only charge for two hours when I am done playing.
Obviously, this is really frustrating when it happens for the third time> I'm waiting for another refurbished headset as I could not talk support into sending me a new one.
Anyone have any insight for me?
