Meta Quest 3 Grey screen after factory reset

HI Team, I have tracking lost issue and did factory reset from Headset as per the instructions given by Meta. But I can see only gray screen. The start-up guide is not coming up after multiple ons and offs, and i left the headset charging for 24 hours as well. It is really frustrating to have this kind of issues. I am not running a VR center and my business has been stopped due to this issue. Please let me know a quick remedy

No Still no solution after Factory reset multiple times. Sometimes I can see the start up screen with controller but That time controller is not connecting with the headset. So I could not login to the account. If I remove the headset once that start up screen also disappears. Again I had to reset or boot the device again and again to see start up screen. I have removed the batteries from controller and reintersed multiple times but controller is not connecting to headset. I there any specfic time for showing the start up. Why because I could not judge when the start up shows up and let me know the reason for controller not connecting to the headset. And let me know is there any other way to login without controller

i usually play in steam vr, but sometimes my brother plays gorilla tag

  • I think I have the same issue.  I will try to sum it up:

    1. The headset works great.  Play beatsaber for an hour each night.  When I'm done, I put it on the charger, everything is working fine.

    2. The next time I go to play, I put the headset on and get a message that the tracking is lost or something.  The display is black except for the message window which is always in the center even if I move my head around.  Controllers do not work.  I can only power down and up by pressing the button.

    3. I hold the volume button while powering up and use the prompt to reboot.  Still no controllers and I use the volume to select.  It reboots but still the same issue.

    4. I do a factory reset by the same method.  It factory resets and I see the rotating meta logo which is bright at first but goes dim as it boots.  I see a multi-colored background for just a 10th of a second and then the screen is black but is backlit, and I hear ambient audio.  Now, there is no message screen, just backlit-black.  Maybe grey-ish?

This is my third refurbished headset that has done the same thing.  I have a quest 2 that has never had this issue.  I keep working with Meta support and they keep sending me refurbished headsets.  This is getting really old.  It would be nice to get a copy of the returned headset inspection report to see what broke.  Is it something that I am doing?

The last time I worked with support, it was suggested that leaving it plugged into the charger overnight could cause this issue.  I did buy an outlet timer with a two hour cycle so it will only charge for two hours when I am done playing.

Obviously, this is really frustrating when it happens for the third time>  I'm waiting for another refurbished headset as I could not talk support into sending me a new one.

Anyone have any insight for me?

Hi yes i have same issue but im not able to send it to meta and there is no way to get different headset.
i found a video person had same issue but with quest 2 one of his cameras broke and he has same message, he replaced that camera and headset worked perfectly. so ill save some money and will buy cameras and replace them

Ivaocu  before you purchase the cameras, it might be worth removing the inner face shield and the front plate and have a look at and clean the connectors from the cameras and proximity sensors with isopropyl alcohol.

I appreciate your input.  Does the Quest 3 have the ability to determine which camera is not working?  Or, is it just a swap one and find out?

Would a 3rd party vented/fan operated facial interface prevent sweat intrusion?  Would it be better to push air in or pull it out of the facial interface?

Also, do you think the Quest 3s would be better for sweat intrusion?
