Meta Quest 3 not recording any in-game audio

I've been having the same issue for the past 2-3 weeks. My mic audio gets recorded, and not my game audio at all. Today when I tried to record again, I only heard the record sound indicator in the replay, but no game audio. I tried the same troubleshooting steps, along with a factory reset, but it doesn't work. I contacted Meta about this and they were only able to tell me to factory reset the headset, and no further fixes from them (such as making a headset software update.) It's getting incredibly annoying, plus the fact that I'm a part time VR content creator makes this even worse to deal with. Doesn't record with any app either, especially with virtual desktop, which I use on a daily basis.

    Hi mattz.vr,

Thanks for reaching out and letting us know that your Quest 3 stopped recording in-game audio.

We understand that not being able to record affects your experience as a VR Content Creator and we want to understand why this is happening so we can get this resolved for you.

Thanks for being proactive and trying a few troubleshooting steps as well as a factory reset. As this did not resolve the issue, we want to check a few things.

First, please check for updates, if your software is not up to date, please update it using our Software Update Tool.

As you mention also having this issue with other apps, the next thing you want to do is to reset your microphone by going in your Settings > System > Sound > Toggle Microphone.

Finally,  you can try a hard reboot of your headset:

    - With your headset on and powered on, press and hold the power button until you see the Power off screen.
    - Select Restart. Your headset will turn off and then turn back on.

If your headset is unresponsive or you're otherwise unable to restart your headset, you can do a force restart:

    - Press and hold the power button for at least 30 seconds.
    - Wait 30 seconds.

If your headset doesn't automatically turn back on, press the power button until your headset has turned back on.

Please keep us updated Matt, as we want to get to the bottom of this so you can go back to enjoying your VR experience again!

I already tried all of these steps. None of them seem to work. I’m also a part time VR content creator, so the fact that one of the built in functions of the headset doesnt work is really frustrating. I recommend you guys to release an update to fix this, because some people I know have the same issue, yet nothing is being done

        Hi mattz.vr,

Thanks for updating us, there a few more steps we can try in order to resolve this for you. I've listed them below for you:

        • Check in-game settings some games have their own audio recording settings. Ensure the microphone is enabled within the game itself.
        • Other users have reported that removing and re-adding their account to their device has resolved their audio recording issues.

Can you try these steps and let us know if this helps? If not we will be happy to look into this further for you.
