Quest 3s has a lower resolution than the Quest 3 however it's still better than you seem to be experiencing. As it's a second hand device, if it's a hardware issue, nothing can be done. It could be that the lenses have micro scratches on them which will effect the clarity. As for YouTube, it is capped at 1080p on the Quest app both for 3s and the higher resolution 3. 1080p is all you get from YouTube on the Quest. As there is no option in the Quest YouTube app to set the resolution higher than 1080p, it's impossible for you to even set it to 1440p. There's no option there to do that. I'm not sure that you actually have the device. If you did you'd know that 1080p is the maximum. Why are you wasting people's time ?
2 and 4k are available in resolution settings and As far as I know, the screen quality is a little more than 2k, so it should be able to play 2k videos.

Yes, that's true that the Quest 3s can play 2k videos and I can say they look good, but YouTube app only plays in 1080p at the moment, doesn't matter if it's a Quest 3 or 3s. I imagine if you access YT through the browser you can set it to 2k if you have the 3s, though I've never bothered trying it.

I didn't know there was a 1080p limit on YouTube.

Yes, you can pick what you like, 2k, 4k, etc, but it's only playing in 1080p in reality. Lots of reddit posts about it. I've even noticed some 1080p videos on the mobile YouTube app only playing in 720p on the Quest app. Obviously some compression going on. It's visible with your eyes. I just tried a 4k hdr video, choosing 1080p on the app and then upped it to the 2k and there was absolutely no difference. Video didn't even flip to higher quality, you can see it slightly pause and change on the YT mobile app but not the Quest app because it's not available. I'm not complaining, it still looks good anyway.
