Meta Quest Help Centre webpage opens on PC startup, How do i stop it?

Hey guys so recently tried to do stuff with my old Quest 1 headset, installed the horizon link stuff and after finding out it goes out of its way to stay running on startup i uninstalled the software using its wizard.

The apps files are no longer appearing in the install location but every single time i start up my PC it opens the support centre in Firefox. Does someone know how to get this to stop? its really annoying and has me wondering if there is some leftover bloatware that is running checks to see if meant to be uninstalled files are running and opening the support page because they aren't.

I'm pretty sure anything under quest 2 is in life support mode, basically meaning nothing will work. Might be wrong though.

What has that got to do with an app running on their PC?

Check for startups in the Windows startup folder, in the Windows registry, and in the Windows Task Scheduler. A cleaning tool such as CCleaner will make your search easier. CCleaner is rather bloated these days, so I'd recommend uninstalling it after you have cleaned up your PC.

      Thanks for the reply,

Used CCleaner and checked those places manually myself and its all clear for anything at least named and labelled for something meta/oculus/facebook.

In other troubleshooting I found that when i swapped my default browser to Opera GX it now opens in that browser and not Firefox, so idk what the hell is going on here.

Is there some folder in windows that has hyperlink files that it auto executes on startup that you know of? I'm completely stumped here, cant blame you if you are as well lol

Try searching the Windows registry for keywords in the website url that keeps opening.
