Meta Quest Link GPU compatibility – RTX 50 / Blackwell supported

Dear community,

I’m looking for some suggestions regarding the system requirements for Meta Quest Link, specifically concerning the GPU.

I’m helping an educational institution purchase several laptops that should be compatible with Meta Quest 3. On the official Meta page (updated about 16 weeks ago), I saw that NVIDIA RTX series 20/30/40/50 GPUs are listed as supported, with some exceptions.

However, I also came across a few posts from some months ago where users reported issues with RTX 20 series GPUs based on the Blackwell architecture.

I’d like to understand whether Blackwell architecture GPUs are now fully supported. Also, can anyone confirm whether the RTX 50 series works properly with Quest Link?

Thanks in advance!

  • I have RTX5060 and it still says that this is a problem. No explanation as to why! Pathetic! Everything works with SteamVR/VD

Thanks Barry. Wow, do you get the red banner that prevents using Quest Link or the blue one, and you’re still able to run it?

  • I get the blue one and it still links but grudgingly as it fails sometimes, disconnects randomly and it stutters. A poor implementation for PCVR. VD just works  - chalk and cheese.

RTX 20 series is a bit underpowered for PCVR. As for the 50 series, it works but you'll get the blue banner that can safely be ignored. As for the complaints about random disconnects while using cable Link connection, that seems to be due to a bug in the last 3 NVIDIA GPU driver updates, which can be fixed by using an older driver.

No bug with the latest 595.79 driver, for me anyway.  I use DDU in safe mode to fully uninstall previous drivers beforehand.
