meta quest link mirror error

Hello, my Windows 11 computer is up to date. My Meta Quest Link app is up to date. Both devices are connected to 5GHz Wi-Fi, and I see that I fully meet the requirements for the glasses. However, when I try to project to my computer, I get the following error. When I reinstall the program, it sometimes works by chance. My internet connection is unrestricted, and the only network connection is my computer and the glasses. Web casting is not available in Türkiye.

    Hello vr15.metaquest,

We know it can be frustrating when casting doesn’t work the way you expect, so let’s walk through a few things together to get you connected.

    • First, double‑check that you’re signed into the same account on both your headset and your browser.
    • Sometimes the connection takes a few minutes to show up on www.oculus.com/casting. If you don’t see your cast right away, give it at least 5 minutes before restarting.
    • If it still doesn’t appear, try power cycling your headset (turning it off and back on).
    • Start casting before launching any apps, this often helps speed up the connection.

You can also find more helpful troubleshooting steps at following link: Troubleshoot casting to a screen with Meta Quest

  • Web casting doesn't work in Turkey. Yesterday, after I completely uninstalled and reinstalled the link program, I was able to cast the image, but it keeps doing it. I'm thinking of buying a Chromecast and plugging it into my TV, but I'm worried it won't work in Türkiye either.

      Hi vr15.metaquest

Web casting may not work in Turkey as it is an unsupported country and some features can be region restricted. You can find the full list of supported countries here

We completely understand that this may not be what you were hoping to hear and should you have further questions, please do not hesitate to reach back out to us!  We are always happy to help!

Merhaba arkadaşım! OK. I'm in Türkiye too, have a new model Vestel 75" and a Chromecast. I actually had the Chromecast a long time before I got the Quest!I'm not into casting to be honest, my wife isn't interested in seeing the scary games I play. Lol. But I was able to cast Affected Manor to my TV. The issue is definitely technical, not regional. I'm surprised that Meta help could even think it might be regional, when it's obviously a hardware/software issue. Now, I'm only saying it worked for me the one time I did it. It should work for you, but depending on your setup I can't guarantee it.  The Chromecast is very nice to have anyway.  So. It's your choice and good luck with it! 🤞
