Meta quest stuck in bootloop

yesterday i was playing beat saber on my quest 2 like i do every day but when i went to lay today i saw it was turned off completely (which i dont normally do) do i let it turn back on but it never did it just keeps turning on the meta logo spins once and then it reboots, but weirdly if i dont have my face on the headset it boots to a grey screen and then does the same but it only does that if my face isnt on the screen, if i try to reset using the onscreen recovery menu the reset screen shows for a second and then it starts doing the same thing as before. i have tried updating the software through metas website but im still having no luck :( any ideas because i dont really want to buy a new headset.
