Mute system sounds

Please add a way to mute or turn off the system sounds when using a Quest headset - it is mind-blowing to me that we can be on v77 & somehow that option isn’t there.

Please also allow us to turn off the background sounds which are present in each of the Home environments, too. It actually makes zero sense to even have them - I currently can’t use any of the environments whilst trying to consume media within windows on Quest - e.g. watching a YouTube video - because the pointless environmental sounds will continuously play, spoiling the audio of the video I’m trying to watch.

    Hey there gaving7095,

While there is currently no option to mute or turn off the system and environment sounds, other users have found workarounds that might also work for you, if you wish to find out how then please click here.

We hope this has helped and if you have any other questions or issues, then please let us know, we are always here and happy to help!

    Have a great day!

Can you tell us why there is not this option? I'm neurodivergent and beeping noises annoys me so much I can't use my product, because I use it to consume media so I am clicking a lot and the noise gives me a headache. Please for the love of God let us disable. I bought it last year and still can't use it because of this. I hate turning volume up and down every time I want to click.

I check every few months to see if this feature has been added. It's ridiculous it hasn't.

It's an accessibility problem for people with auditory issues.

They won’t, I’m sure. It’s such a big shame - literally $ billions poured into this product and simple, fundamental features are just missed.

Product support is THE worst I have ever experienced; A.I. chatbots rolling out boiler plate platitudes whilst essentially gaslighting the user that that approach is in any way helpful.

System software updates which roll out over such a long period (I.e. 3 months, or more) that it’s generally frustrating but also neigh-on impossible to even know what features your device is supposed to currently have.
