If the controllers are out of warranty, it's an easy job to replace them yourself.

Thanks, yes, I know the video, but the controllers are simply not reliable in this regard – it’s a well-known hardware problem that Meta itself is aware of. Unfortunately, the company mainly tries to address these shortcomings through software updates instead of fixing the actual root cause – the faulty hardware.
On top of that, Meta does not allow third-party solutions to address the joystick issue. This means that alternative, potentially more robust controllers from external manufacturers are neither officially supported nor approved. As a result, users are tied to Meta’s own unreliable hardware instead of having access to better solutions on the market.
From a customer’s perspective, this is particularly frustrating, especially given the high purchase price and the fact that these limitations continue to significantly affect everyday use.- Anonymous9 months agoNot applicable
I agree with everything you've typed, but the cheap joystick modules and useless default headstrap are just ways of keeping the price down and having more tech in the headset.
A lower total price point means more kids in the metadverse.
