My quest 3 isn't charging with my link cable but the quest 2 did.. anyone know why?

My quest 3 isn't charging with my link cable and I've had no problem doing it with quest 2 but it just stays at the same percentage.. I haven't tried the charger the comes in the box but It should be...

    Hey everyone! I've gotten confirmation from the engineering and product team. It looks like when in use, the headset may adjust the charging rate to optimize battery performance based on factors such as temperature. For safety and performance reasons, your headset’s battery also may not fully charge if it is plugged in while in use and exceeds the optimal charging temperature. Once the device is no longer in use and its temperature has returned to normal, your device should resume charging to 100% while plugged in to charge.
    When plugged into a laptop/PC, using a USB port that is not Power Delivery-compatible and capable of 18W+ will slow down charging.

I've been looking into this since I get my Q3 and it sounds like a poor software or PD  strategy for controling the charging and/or poor thermal management of the battery.

When the battery goes past a certain temp the software will stop the charging until the battery cools down again, as it does with most lithium batteries and as the Q3 is working harder than the Q2 I'm assuming it gets hotter under load? (I've not used a Q2 so don't know)
I'm using a link lead with USB injection, the PD charger is powering the link lead using a PD lead with a wattage display, I can watch the charge rate drop off as the headset warms up.

C'mon Meta this needs addressing, we shouldn't be taking the headset off and having to charge it mid game.

      I get around 2hrs from fully charged to it turning itself off through 0% battery

      Am I right in thinking the charge limitation is due to the battery being to warm to allow further charging?

       

      Do you have any plans to extend the play time on the Q3?

       

      I think what most people are saying is that they are finding the interuptions in gaming sessions frustrating, it can be quite a while before you're back in the game, coming from a vive I'm finding this so annoying that I'm already looking for alternative headset (although the Q3 is really good apart from the charging issue)
